The Defenders of Severus Snape

Posted in Deathly Hallows, Rumors & Gossip at 9:40 am by HP

r392329926.jpgAs fans prepare for the release of That Book Whose Ending Must Not Be Spoiled, we’ve noticed that one particular group of readers is waiting, hoping, and worrying about the fellow they love. “I have to admit I was NEVER this nervous,” confesses one devoted webmistress. Concerned over the fate of Harry James Potter? Well, sure, they’re curious about whether Harry lives or dies, but the hearts of these fans pound with another question: What becomes of their beloved Severus Snape? Will the Half-Blood Prince turn out to be evil or good?

Fan site “itrustsnape.com” has inspired a robust search attendance and boasts a Trust List nearly 2,000 names strong. These fans believe in their man, despite the fact that he was the reason behind Book 6 search spikes like “snape kills dumbledore.” Queries these days are more along the lines of “the great snape debate,” “snape friend or foe,” and “is snape good or evil?”

Good, evil, or a little bit of both, the Professor is definitely charismatic. Witness the many Snape fan sites in the Yahoo! Directory. The SnapeCast podcast even celebrates Snape’s “fabulous fashion sense.” This could have a bit to do with Snape’s onscreen incarnation; ladies between 35-54 are particularly inclined to seek out “alan rickman.” Read the rest of this entry »

Does Cho Chang kiss Harry Potter in the new movie, Order of the Phoenix? I don’t know yet as I haven’t seen the new movie yet, but my bets is that Harry’s love interest, Cho Chang, will kiss her again in the movie and develop a relationship with her. She’s a cutie after all. Kissing Harry Potter, Cho Chang may fall in love with Harry Potter, then again, as to add to the new movies plot, he may end the relationship with Cho Ching as there may be other love interests of Harry Potter. So where did his love interest start with Cho Chang and the first kiss take place?

JK RowlingLONDON (Reuters) Bestselling author J.K. Rowling joined the young stars of the Harry Potter movies on Tuesday at the London premiere of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” the fifth in the seven-part franchise.Organizers recreated the atmosphere of the Ministry of Magic, where much of the action in the latest film takes place.

Hundreds of Potter fans, many of them young girls, assembled in Leicester Square in torrential rain and thunder and chanted “Harry, Harry, Harry” to see the teenaged stars on their way into the Odeon Cinema. Some had camped out overnight.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the boy wizard, clearly enjoyed the female attention.

“I can’t complain. It’s rather wonderful, really,” he said.

Radcliffe, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) lead the cast, along with Imelda Staunton, who steals the scenes she appears in as the sinister control freak Dolores Umbridge. Read the rest of this entry »
